 About the Russian History Seminar

Created in spring 2004, the Russian History Seminar is a forum for professional historians and graduate students from the DC area. We meet regularly at Georgetown University to discuss the work-in-progress of scholars in Russian history.

The main purpose of this site is to continue seminar discussions beyond our actual meetings. For each seminar presentation, we will add a new post on the Upcoming Events page that introduces the presenter and summarizes his or her work-in-progress. Please contribute to these discussions by adding your comments to the posts. You can find the comments underneath each blog entry and add your own.

The Russian History Seminar typically meets once or twice a month at the Intercultural Center at Georgetown University. Papers are circulated only to those participants who attend the actual seminar on a regular basis. If you are unable to attend our seminar regularly, but wish to obtain a copy of a paper presented at our seminar, please contact the author directly via his/her e-mail indicated on the seminar’s post.

If you are interested in attending our seminar, presenting your work-in-progress, or if you have any questions about our website, please go to our Contact page for more information.
